Currently Listening. Sad but true words from the legendary RATM. I consider it an ode to blissful ignorance and complacency. I made a post some time ago about the dangers of brainwashing. It’s concerning how susceptible we as humans can be to brainwashing, but with knowledge and awareness, we can see past the BS and outsmart it—straight up reject it. Studies have shown that brainwashing can be carried out in various ways, including with direct speech going out to the public and also with subliminal messages that are attached through actions that influence the public to not focus at all on the tragic occurrences in our societies and abroad. Noam Chomsky spoke about how when there are troubles in a nation, there’s often something being overlooked that’s occurring elsewhere. In conclusion, whether here or elsewhere, whatever the issues may be, instead of sleeping now in the fire, as we’re expected to, speak now in the fire!
