So, I’ve been working on some wonderful things in regards to the publication of the TWARE Series. The fact of the matter is, when you’re an artist, you want everything related to your art precisely how you want it, including the business side of things. That’s part of the joy of being an artist. However, fulfilling the intended plans requires time and major focus on those particular matters (I’m keeping those matters a secret for now). Considering everything regarding time, including the best times to publish for specific markets, I’ve had an important decision to make, whether to do a bunch of stuff in a rush and publish book 2 in the spring (March/April), or to do one major thing at a time regarding authoring/publication and publish the book a little later. I’ve decided on publishing the book later, and I think it’s the best decision. I feel that the summer season is generally uncomfortable when compared to the other seasons, and people tend to go on vacations especially during the summer. Thus, summer is best suited for light reads, not heavy reads like the books I’ve written. Those are also the general recommendations given by the publishing industry.
That leads me to the following: If not publishing in the spring or summer, then when? I’ve decided to publish in the fall. I love the fall season; it’s one of my favorite seasons of the year. Since the fall is also back-to-school time, and the main audience for the series is teens/young adults, I think that’ll be the best time to publish book 2. I haven’t done any major marketing/promotions for the series yet, so there isn’t an audience that’s anticipating them at the time-being, as far as I know. From those who read book 1 at its publication in December 2019, there were only a couple of individuals who showed their support, and though appreciated it was quite brief. So, I don’t feel any major obligation to rush and publish it right now. I’ll wait and publish it when everything on the schedule before that time is fulfilled, as I planned it to be before the pandemic and everything else that happened. So, no need to fret (to the few of you who will read this post before the fall season 2021). I’m not disappointing any number of people who were anticipating the release of book 2 (except for maybe the trolls, and who cares what they want?). You have to post your reviews, readers, so that authors know you enjoyed reading their book. Otherwise, how will they know? Anyway, everything will be revealed in due time. Also, something I considered and every author should consider, I’ve read several reviews where the reviewer said a book was rushed. I feel strongly that it’s those deadlines. One of the joys of being an independent author is that we have the freedom to make decisions like this one. I won’t take it for granted. I also refuse to do pre-orders, but that’s something else entirely. From this point forward, I’ll be on my social media pages until about the end of April, then I’m taking a break to get everything done. So, again, the publication for book 2 of the TWARE Saga will be in the fall. I’ll post specific dates a few weeks before publication. Take care, and have a happy spring! =)
