Tribute to Bell Hooks.

One of the modern leaders of the feminism and women’s rights movement, Bell Hooks, has passed away. Much appreciation to Bell Hooks not only for her fight for women’s rights but also for her fight for equality beyond feminism, for the equal and fair treatment of all people regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex, gender, religion, and social class. One of her many books, “Ain’t I A Woman,” was inspired by the speech from Sojourner Truth by the same name, another brilliant individual who too was a leader in both the feminist moment and the equal rights movement, in particular the first civil rights movement in America which called for the abolition of slavery. Bell Hooks wrote over 30 books, ranging in the topics of feminism, racism, patriarchy, sexuality, class, gender, art, and history. There are many authors who write books, but those who educate on the most dire issues are especially a great asset to this world. Bell Hooks was one of those authors. Rest in peace, beautiful queen. Your presence will be missed in this world, and your profound words and works will not be forgotten.
